I came across a page selling dinner dresses that I saw good pieces for a fair price of Kshs 500/=. I inboxed in WhatsApp at around 11pm to which they responded at 6am asking if they could send samples. This was the 1st red flag as I had to request twice later that day for the samples to which they sent at 5pm. I sited their poor communication on this and they/"she"apologized.( "She" because the profile pic on whatsapp is a female). They send me 1st batch, I didn't find my spec, I ask for another specifically in the color red to which send the next day. Honestly at this point I should've walked away but I was blinded by the excitement of my upcoming birthday. Usually, I'm very keen on online sellers and if there's no physical shop I walk away. In this case, It's because of my carelessness that my Kshs 1100 was gone because I didn't even remember to ask for payment on delivery. That aside, I narrow down to 2 dresses and a necklace, I told the seller I would make payment once I decide. This here should have been an eye opener because immediately I said that I think they panicked thinking I wouldn't pay and even helped me choose between the 2 dresses of which I was really considering on the onset. I make up my mind to purchase the dress, which initially was Kshs 500 but now 700. Another red flag .(Kshs 700 & necklace Kshs 300, delivery fee 100ksh which totals UpTo 1100). I ask for a mode of payment and at this time, the seller is very keen on responding within seconds, I remember laughing at this considering the off handed replies I was getting at the beginning. I made payment 2hrs later to a number beating the name Esther Mwaura and I asked for the package be delivered the next day since it was already evening around 7pm. The seller agrees and ask for my address/details which I give and tells me they will call me on dispatch Sunday the following day.At around 8pm, the seller sends me a message "goodnight mamah" to which I reply "goodnight girl". It was weird and I started wondering if I was really talking to a female. (Looking back, this message was their last communication to me which was like a goodbye of thankyou for sending us your money addios.) So the next day, I wait an entire day, not even a phone call nor message to update me on my delivery. I text in WhatsApp asking for my package to which I get grey ticks. Monday the following morning, I try calling the WhatsApp no. On normal calls &it's switched off. I go ahead and retrieve my mpesa message to dial the number I made payment to which rings thrice without answer. I message them, asking for my package or a refund,to which they read and go ahead to remove their profile pic. I try calling them again on WhatsApp to no avail. It's now sunk in that I've been scammed. Kindly hide my identity. I just want to spread awareness on that conman.
